Can You Do Away With The Phone Line?

As mobile telecommunications and broadband services get more advanced,
many users will be asking themselves the question: can we do away the
phone line and its
associated costs?
In some circumstances, it may be preferable to conduct telephone calls
through the internet or through mobile devices. There are nevertheless
some advantages to fixed phone lines which are difficult to replicate
in the other services. For this reason a cheap
phone line may be preferable to no phone line.
First and foremost, the existing copper wire telephone network offers
almost completely uninterrupted fidelity. This is a great advantage
over mobile telephones, which are subject to fluctuations in signal
strength and quality that can have a negative impact on the calling
experience. Unlike telephone calls conducted through the internet,
phone calls that go through copper wires are highly unlikely to be
subject to lag. Likewise, phone calls through copper wire networks
will not count towards a total monthly broadband usage allowance like
those through the internet will.
Of course, for some users, it is entirely realistic to replace the
monthly cost of a domestic phone line with the combination of a
comprehensive mobile phone call package and a decent internet
connection. Unfortunately for many others, there is simply no direct
substitute for a telephone wire.
Another major advantage of using a domestic telephone line is that the
handsets associated with these fixed line services are often far
larger and more comfortable than mobile phones or most internet call
handsets. As a result, often the sound quality is also considerably
higher. These factors combine to make the monthly cost of paying for a
telephone line and calls worthwhile for many users. As an added bonus
many phone operators offer free
phone line installation as part of their deals.
Ultimately, whilst some users could do away with a phone line, most
others would feel more comfortable in the knowledge that they have a
perfect service available and at hand for when it is needed most.
